We are proud to refer that our exhibition will open on friday 30th of july, 8pm in Karlsruhe. TALKING TYPE – SCHRIFTMASCHINEN shows our approach to type design which differs from the common way in discussing spacing. What we are more interested in is to use typedesign to shape matters of content.
That way letters begin to tell their own stories and are far more than a tool made for being unremarkable.

Here is some information about the exhibition.

It will be open from 31th July – 10th August, daily from 2pm to 9pm.
We serve cool beer on our terrace.

The Catalogue is made by the visitor itself. You can get a single-way-camera there and photograph the exhibits. After developping you get the catalogue as 27 prints. Then also will be revealed the explanations and theoretical text.

Here you can order your catalogue if you will not be in Karlsruhe during the exhibition. [12 Euro]

An exhibition of design projects by european students.
Initiated and curated by Avoid Red Arrows, collective for type design Karlsruhe.

We appeal design students to submit projects, that address issues with typography.
Here the letters may be more than a tool, they are core, show substance through shape.
TALKING TYPE sets an yet unseen focus and shows surprising facets of design.
The powerful ideas of young designers enter the stage, rules of traditional typography are to take a back seat.

Until the 15th of June students could submit projects and ideas.
The exhibition will take place in Juli in Karlsruhe.

Unsere Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe wird vom 13. bis 16. Mai 2010 das erste Kunst- und Designcamp für Schülerinnen und Schüler veranstalten. An vier Tagen werden für 100 Schüler/innen zwischen 16 und 19 Jahren mehr als 20 Workshops angeboten. Die Workshops werden von Studenten aller Fachbereiche betreut.
